How to Make and Cancel an Appointment
An Automated Arrivals Console was installed to alleviate queues at the front desk. It is very easy to use and saves time for you and the receptionists. “Arrive” yourself by entering your date of birth details – remember to read the screen carefully and to answer all the questions. This can be used for doctor, nurse and phlebotomy appointments.
Consult online with Bursleden Surgery doctors.
As well as medical advice, you can use eConsult for:
| Fit notes | GP letters | Medical reports | Medication reviews | Test results |
It may not be necessary for you to attend for an appointment. You can submit an e-consultation via the link on the home page. You can submit details about your condition or your administration request and you will receive a response from the practice usually within 24 hours but you will be advised of the timeframe once you have submitted.
We will ask that you contact the surgery on the day you need to see a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner and we will endeavour to give you an appointment time to either be seen, or talk to a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner on the phone.
Book Appointments Online
Registered patients can now book (and cancel) appointments online.
If you have an urgent requirement, we offer a limited 'Urgent On The Day' system every weekday. Please call from 8.30am and you will be added to the list for that day. Please note however, these appointments are not a choice of time, they are offered on a first come, first serve basis and are specific time slots.
You can book routine appointments every weekday with the GP, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and Phlebotomist up to 6 weeks in advance.
Routine Appointments are now available outside of our usual opening times
We are pleased to announce that we are now able to offer additional routine appointments with a GP or Practice Nurse in the evenings, at weekends and on bank holidays at Eastleigh Southern Parishes (ESP) Hub. We have also recently introduced a Muskoskeletal (MSK) Specialist to see to any possible physiotherapy problems.
We are working together with the 5 local practices (Blackthorn Health Centre, Bursledon Surgery, Hedge End Medical Centre, St Lukes & Botley Surgery and West End Surgery) under the umbrella of Eastleigh Southern Parishes (ESP) Network Ltd., funded through West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to offer Extended Access appointments to allow patients who find it hard to access their GP during core hours.
The service is by appointment only and can only be booked directly through your GP practice.
Currently the appointments are between 6.30pm and 8.30pm Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm on Saturdays, and between 9am and 1pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
All the appointments are provided at Hedge End Medical Centre, 24-28 Lower Northam Road, Hedge End, Southampton, SO30 4FQ.
