There are several clinics specially for looking after patients with ongoing conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and other breathing conditions. You will be sent an appointment to attend if it’s appropriate, but if you feel you need to be seen beforehand, this can usually be arranged.
We are able to perform a variety of investigations within the surgery including:
Electrocardiograms (ECGs, heart tracings)
Spirometry (lung function tests)
Pregnancy tests (when there is a medical reason to find out)
Please note: You will be contacted if your results are unusual.
Working alongside the Midwifery team, Maternity Services at Bursledon Surgery includes a programme of checks and immunisations for mum and baby.
Dressings can be done by the nurses and healthcare assistants. We also run clinics for the management of leg ulcers.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
